Surry Nuclear Power Station is seeking a Process Assistant III to join its Nuclear Document Management Department.
The Process Assistant III will be responsible for the following job duties:
Provides customer service in order to answer questions and assist customer with locating both hard copy and electronic files.
Maintains physical environment of archived records storage facilities including monitoring temperature/humidity, ensuring security of records, logging of physical environment conditions, escorting visitors into QA records storage facilities, and ensuring proper storage location and condition of files.
Stores, protects and works with Confidential and Safeguard documents.
Operates information retrieval equipment including database retrieval and use of microfilm/microfiche readers.
Maintains and updates various records and work progress reports; verifies accuracy and completeness of records.
Establishes new file categories or new filing systems. Indexes material for filing; checks files for misfiled, outdated, missing materials.
Performs destruction or other disposition of records that have met retention requirements.
Maintains storage facility for non-QA records.
Performs data entry to Document Management systems (i.e. Documentum) including entry, verification of information, correcting information, establishing new file categories, etc.
Maintains hard copy and electronic files.
Operates copier, scanning, and microfilm machines to reproduce documents or to convert documents or information stored on film to paper or electronic formats.
Searches and refers to various records, forms, reports, systems for desired information.
Verifies that records, forms, database input/output or other items are accurate and in proper order.
Maintains records for design documents, folders, or other items removed from files or storage.
Must be able to prioritize tasks. Often assigned to multiple tasks with conflicting schedules.
Must be flexible and able to shift priorities, working to very tight deadlines with little or no margin for error.
Under direction of work leader or supervisor, tests computer programs as revisions are made to existing programs or new programs are created.
Perform duties associated with station mail.
May be required to be a member of the stations Emergency Response Organization.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
Two (2) years of general office experience is required
Records or information management experience is preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and SAP
Ability to prioritize work and exercise considerable discretion in performance of duties
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple activities and resources
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
High School Graduate or GED
Office Work Environment 76 -100%
This job requires recommended test results from CEB/SHL Online Clerical Assessments (Proofreading, Classifying & Coding, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel) administered on-line during the pre-employment process. The Classifying and Coding test measures the candidate's ability to classify and code items by categories. You will have 4 minutes to answer 70 questions. The Proofreading assessment measures the candidate's ability to read for errors involving spelling, punctuation, and grammar and word choice. It also measures the candidate's ability to correct those errors. You will have 6 minutes to answer 60 questions. Microsoft Word and Excel - You will be asked to perform in a simulated environment that resembles the actual application. You will have 25 minutes to complete 20 questions.
